Description: Blue agave is the more common name for Agave tequila which is a plant that is cultivated in Mexico. This plant is often thought to be a cactus, however the agave blue is a bluish-green colored succulent. This plant grows as a spiky clump from an oval-shaped center called the heart of the plant.

Maintenance & Care: The blue agave requires minimal care and attention. Watering should be thorough, but the plant needs to dry out completely between irrigation sessions. Fertilizer is not necessary and could potentially harm the plant if used too liberally. Due to the succulent nature of the blue agave, this plant retains water and is very drought-tolerant.
