Description: The think leaves are shipped like fat teardrops creating a unique look to this plant. Clusia are relatively low-maintenance, and these plants branch out close to the ground and can get very wide. Clusia plants are salt-tolerant making them ideal for south florida and seaside locations. Clusia are often used in landscaping as hedges, large accent plants, or to create a privacy wall.

Maintenance & Care: Clusia Guttifera are salt-tolerant and are able to grow in full sun and part shade. These plants are drought tolerant and are moderate to fast growers. Clusia can grow quite tall, but can be trimmed regularly to maintain a specific height, most commonly a height of about 5 to 6 feet tall. For the first year, water these plants on a regular basis, allowing time for the plant to dry out between waterings. Clusia need to be fertilized 3 times a year (spring, summer, and fall). After a year, Clusia can be watered during dry spells although somewhat regular irrigation will keep the shrub prettier and more full.
