Description: Fishtail palms are named for the unusual leaves that are shaped like a jagged fish tail. Fishtail palms are clustering palms that grow very dense and full. These palms grow at a moderate rate and grow up to about 20-25 feet. Fishtail palms are moderately cold tolerant, but are better in warmer areas. Fishtail pals are usually used in landscaping to create a privacy screen or hedge, as a backdrop for other tropical plantings, and to create accent pieces in corner locations.

Maintenance & Care: Fishtail palms need to be fertilized three times a year (spring, summer, and fall). This palm is a model grower, so trimming is only need occasionally, as   the browned leaf stems need to be trimmed off. Fishtail palms need regular watering.
