Sun Exposure: Part Shade to Full Sun
Description: The Royal palm is a South Florida classic and Florida native. Smooth trunks of gray are topped with long, luxurious, full fronds. These palms can soar to a height of 80 feet tall and grow at a moderate speed, are salt-tolerant, and moderately drought-tolerant. Royal palms greatly benefit from regular watering and are self-cleaning, as old frond drop on their own. Royal Palms are used in landscaping most commonly to line streets, driveways, and property lines.
Maintenance & Care: Royal palms need to be fertilized with good quality granular palm fertilizer containing micronutrients 3 times a year (spring, summer, and fall). Dead fronds fall off on their own, making maintenance much easier. Royal palms need to be watered on a regular basis with enough time between waterings for the palm to be able to somewhat dry out.
